Peter Davies grew an interest in trading fairly late in life. His career was in the software industry; specifically in managing software outsourcing factories in Asia. Like many people, Peter was a passive investor, letting Financial Advisors and Fund Managers do the work for him. At 35 years old, Peter took a 30% loss on his portfolio and was told by a smug Financial Advisor “but at least we beat the benchmark!” At that point he decided that if he was going to lose 30%, then he should at least not be paying someone else to do it for him.
