Calm Amidst Overseas Turmoil: Monday's Market Forecast

Share this post:

Markets are unusually calm overnight given some international turmoil in Saudi Arabia - where the Crowned Prince arrested 11 princes in an anti-corruption crackdown and another prince was killed in a helicopter crash. This did little to shake up the Crude Oil ($CLZ7) market - with prices even with Friday's close at $55.70.

In equity markets, the Nasdaq ($NQZ7) hit a fresh all-time high above 6300 in early trading. The Emini S&P 500 ($ESZ7) is also trading near its all-time highs. For that performance, Gold ($GCZ7) futures are relatively steady, up $2 and back above $1,270 per ounce.
