In both October 1929 and 1987, the stock market crashed, setting off panic beyond the trading floors. These days impacted history so much that the days themselves earned names - almost like holidays. October 29, 1929 is called Black Tuesday, and October 19, 1987 is dubbed Black Monday

But what was it really like being in the midst of one of the greatest stock market panics of all time? John Hoagland and Eddie Horn were there, and the lessons they learned shaped their views of the market throughout their trading careers. Here's how they recount that story.
